Experimental material was used to this study were eighty broiler chicken SR-707. Broiler chicken was divided into twenty pen with five treatments and four replications and each pen was filled with four broiler chickens. The treatments were P1 = drinking water without betel leaves extract, P2 = drinking water + 0,5% extract of betel leaves, P3 = drinking water + 1% extract of betel leaves, P4 drinking water + 1,5% betel leaves extract, and P5 = drinking water + 2% betel leaves extract. variables were final weight, carcass percentage and abdominal fat of 5 weeks broiler chicken. The data obtained was processed and analyzed using analysis variance and continued using F-test. The result showed that addition of betel leaves extract in drinking water did not give significant (P>0,05) effect on final weight, carcass percentage and abdominal fat of broiler chicken. The conclusion was using betel leaves extract untill 2% in broiler drinking water no decreased final weight, carcass percentage and abdominal fat of broiler chicken that was slaughtered at 5 weeks of old. |

Ayam yang digunakan sebanyak 48 ekor dipelihara selama 28 hari. Ayam dipelihara dalam petak kandang sistem panggung berukuran 0,75 x 0,75 x 0,5 meter sebanyak 12 petak dengan masing-masing petak diisi dengan 4 ekor ayam. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2012- Januari 2013 di Kandang Peternakan Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Haluoleo Kendari. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri atas P0 (Air minum tanpa penambahan ekstrak daun kemangi), P1 (Air minum dengan 5 ml ekstrak daun kemangi/liter air minum), P2 (Air minum dengan 10 ml ekstrak daun kemangi/liter air minum), P3 (Air minum dengan 15 ml ekstrak daun kemangi/liter air minum). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan konsumsi air minum berada pada kisaran 157,56±3,89- 165,73±6,79 ml/hari; konsumsi ransum berada pada kisaran 88,70±0,99- 90,23±0,34 gram/hari; pertambahan bobot badan berada pada kisaran 53,46±2,10-58,42±1,56 gram/hari; konversi ransum berada pada kisaran 1,54±0,07- 1,66±0,04 dengan rataan yang dicapai adalah 1,59. Hasil analisis sidik ragam pemberian ekstrak daun kemangi dalam air minum sampai 15 ml/liter terhadap konsumsi air minum, konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi ransum tidak berpengaruh nyata (p>0,05). |
| KECERNAAN IN VITRO SILASE SAMPAH SAYUR DAN DAUN GAMAL MENGGUNAKAN MIKROORGANISME RUMEN KAMBING | Author : Indrayani Indrayani, Harapin Hafid, Dian Agustina | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This study aims to determine the digestibility of dry matter and organic matter level waste silage mixed vegetables and Gliricidia leaves were tested in vitro. This study used a completely randomized design with 3 treatments and 3 replications. Each of these treatments is R0 (Gliricidia leaves 100%), R1 (Gliricidia leaves 70% + 30% silage vegetable waste), and R2 (Gliricidia leaves 40% + 60% silage vegetable waste). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and further testing using the test Honestly Significant Difference (HSD). The results of ANOVA showed that the mixture of vegetable waste silage was highly significant (p <0.05) on dry matter digestibility and significantly (p <0.05) on the digestibility of organic matter. It can be concluded that the mixed of vegetable waste silage and Gliricidia leaves can improved digestibility of dry matter and organic matter, treatment of 40% and 60% Gliricidia leaves plus waste vegetable produce silage dry matter digestibility and percentage of organic matter is best (72,24% and 68,19%). |

The results of this study are expected to be useful as a reference basis for government and practitioners in developing chicken laugh at Kendari and as a reference for further research. The study was conducted in October - November 2012 held at Kendari. Determination of sub-sample study conducted by purposive sampling based on the amount of chicken population Ketawa most, the samples used were each 10 Baruga farmers in the district, sub-district and district Poasia Kadia. Methods of data collection that is through interview, observation and documentation. Data analysis was performed based on a percentage of the value and use SWOT analysis then reviewed descriptively. Prospects for business development in the chicken laugh Kendari supported by the high price of chicken laugh, the majority of farmers belong to the productive age and height HR breeders. The problem faced by the chicken business is a sideline laughing, limited capital breeder, the lack of a stable market and a lack of knowledge and skills in disease control. Rusdin | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The objectives of this research was to provide data both qualitative and quantitative traits of laughing chicken. The research was conducted in period of December, 2012 to Januari, 2013 in Kendari. The location was determined using purposive sampling where the population of laughing chicken was high enough either in Sub-district or in village levels. Seventy five adult chicken consisted of 50 cocks and 25 hens were used in thes research to observe both qualitative traits (feather colors, feather patterns, feather like, feather stripe, shank color and comb shape) and qualitative traits (body weight and body dimension). The data of qualitative traits were analyzed using relative frequency value (percentage) and reviewed descriptively, while quantitative data were presented in mean with standard deviation and variance coefficient. The result showed that laughing chicken in Kendari both cocks and hens has colored feather (ii), black color pattern (E_), silver-like feather color (S_), and non barred (bb) stripe feather. The cock shank was dominated by black/grey (idid) while the hen shank was dominated by white/yellowish (Id_). The cock comb was dominated by single comb (rrpp), while the hen was dominated by pea comb (rrP_). Body weight of cock ranged between 1,521,94 kg with the average 1,81±0,08 kg, while the hen body weight ranged between 1,26-1,54 kg with the average 1,38±0,09 kg. the high score of variance coefficient of body dimensions of cock were neck length (11,47%), followed by length of the third toe (11,10%), sternum length (10,68%) and shank circle (10,16%), and the low score observed in sternum circle (4,01%). Data of factors that affect it does not known properly yet. Therefore, there is needed a research which is held to know the productivity of bali cattle breeding of either trnasmigrant or non transmigrant breeder in Kabaena Island and factors that affect it. The research material is either the transmigrant or non transmigrant bali cattle breeders that have at least 1 female cattle that has born or 1 male cattle more than 2 years old and have maintained cattle at least 1 year. The research location is determined by purposive sampling method and the research responden is determined by simple random sampling method as many as 60 respondens, consist of 30 transmigrant breeders and 30 non transmigrant breeders. Analysis which is used in this research is Bifilarly Linear Regression that is explained descriptively. The result of this research showed that bussines of non transmigrant breeder (36%) is higher than transmigrant breeder (24%). The result of regression analysis showed that productivity of bali cattle bussines as dependent variable had an comprehensively affect on independent variable (experience, age, family employee, education, areal wide, occupation, and the breeder origin) with accuracy of regression model is 29,4%. |

Bali cattle breeding is managed integrated with agro bussines so that it is able to increase the animal farmer income. This research was held using survey method, the determining of research location was used purposive sampling method and the respondens was choosed according to simple random sampling, involved 60 respondens. The variables which are observed include the respondens character, breeding management, revenue, cost and income of animal farmer from either cattle breeding or non cattle farming bussines.The result of this research showed that the income of each animal farmer household in the research location reach Rp. 14.776.384 year-1 with average’s family income from each bussines is Rp. 7.388.192 year-1. The average of animal farmer household income from bali cattle breeding in South Poleang Subdistrict, Bombana Regency is higher (Rp. 8.878.200 year-1) than its income from non bali cattle farming bussines (Rp. 5.898.183 year-1). The income average of animal farmer household that represent farmer’s non coastal is Rp. 7.540.100 year-1 and the income of animal farmer household that represent coastal only reach Rp. 7.236.633 year-1. The contribution of bali cattle breeding in South Poleang Subdistrict, Bombana Regency on the total income of animal farmer household is 60,08% (is categorized as bussines branch) and higher than the contribution of non bali cattle breeding bussines which only reach 39,92%. |

The population in this study were all breeders of beef cattle, amounting to 142 households with a fixed number of samples studied as much as 30% (47 families) from the existing population. Population breeders for 3 (three) parts, namely: 1) the eastern region, 2) the middle region, and 3) the western region. Determination of the sample with use strafetied proportional random sampling technique. Variables observed are the characteristics of the respondents, the potential for beef cattle breeding business, business expenses, revenues and financial feasibility. To determine the characteristics and potential of beef cattle business in the descriptive analysis and to determine the feasibility of beef cattle breeding business financially in the analysis by the Revenue Cost Ratio analysis (R/C Ratio), Pay Back Period (PBP) and Breack Even Point (BEP). Beef cattle breeding business in the Village Alebo District Konda enough potential to be developed. These conditions can be seen from the availability of seed, feed, land, housing, drugs, capital, labor and equipment beef cattle breeding business. Financial analysis of beef cattle breeding research in the area deserve to be developed. The results obtained by averaging the research conducted by breeders of beef cattle receipts on average Rp. 11,765,958,- total average income Rp. 7,246,035,-, analysis of R/C Ratio obtained by the average value 1.6, the value obtained PBP 0.3 year in which the value of investments shorter than the age of 9.5 years of investment and BEP value of 0.8 (1 tail) with a value of Rp. 2,259,961,-. |
